Idle-time review

Idle is a question. Not an accusation.

Exclude inactive time automatically while allowing employees to classify meetings, reading, assistance, breaks, and off-device work fairly.

In short: When inactivity reaches the idle threshold (5 minutes by default, adjustable from 5 to 60 minutes for the organization or an individual employee), JoFlee excludes the interval from the last input. On return, the employee classifies it as working away or non-working, with notes and project context when required.

For HR & operational leaders

Give managers clarity without turning oversight into surveillance.

Managers focus on missing context, attendance exceptions, and approvals while HR retains consistent policy, scoped access, and an auditable record.

FIG. 01 / Rule

Short gaps stay active. Confirmed idle does not.

If input returns before the idle threshold, the gap remains active. Once the threshold is reached, the whole interval beginning at last input becomes excluded.

01.01

Immediate pause states

Lock and sleep pause tracked work without waiting for the idle threshold.

01.02

Persistent review

The return card stays available while work continues, but unresolved intervals cannot become submitted timesheets.

01.03

Exact boundaries

The employee sees the start, end, and duration being classified.

FIG. 02 / Fairness

Passive work still counts when it is work.

Training, long reading, calls, desk-side assistance, and whiteboard sessions may have no keyboard or mouse input.

02.01

Working away

Requires a note and can carry project context; included as payable but visibly distinguished.

02.02

Correct or split

If part of a non-working interval was actually a meeting or off-device work, the employee can convert that exact portion to working away.

02.03

Non-working

Time before and after a corrected portion remains non-working, preserving precise boundaries instead of rewriting the whole interval.

The JoFlee difference

Not another HRMS. A workday memory that runs itself.

JoFlee complements the PMS, HRMS, payroll, and billing tools a company already uses. It quietly prepares the accurate record those systems need, so employees do not have to recreate a week or month from memory.

03.01

Automatic by design

Attendance, active work, breaks, working-away time, project hours, timesheets, and salary progress are assembled from the normal workday—not another timer employees must remember to maintain.

03.02

Built to help employees

Employees can inspect the record, classify or split idle time, assign uncategorized activity to projects, review period totals, and request corrections before submission.

03.03

Useful to the whole business

HR gets scoped charts and exports, managers get review queues and project totals, and Finance gets transparent payable-hour and salary inputs—all from the same reviewed record.

Answer desk / FAQ

Questions, answered plainly.

Does reaching the idle threshold remove only the final minute?

No. Once the threshold is reached, JoFlee excludes the full interval beginning at the last input.

Can meetings away from the keyboard count as work?

Yes. The employee can classify the interval as working away and add the required note.

Can an incorrect non-working interval be fixed?

Yes. The employee can select an exact portion, add a required working-away note and optional project, and leave the surrounding time non-working.

Can unresolved idle time be submitted?

No. Unresolved intervals remain excluded and block timesheet submission.

Is JoFlee an HRMS or an employee surveillance tool?

No. JoFlee is an autonomous workday record that complements existing PMS, HRMS, payroll, and billing systems. It helps employees remember and verify their work, gives them visibility and review rights, and deliberately excludes screenshots, keystrokes, productivity scores, and employee ranking.
